Does anyone know if Nortel offers CSTA for Meridian 61C switches? One of our software products offers sales tracking, contact management, sales/marketing reporting type features - we provide the software and sometimes hosting for certain clients. One of our clients is having us investigate if it is possible to have our switch host a server that would have client database records that would interface whenever inbound or outbound calls are placed - the information would automatically appear on the user's computer via our software. They do not want to make any changes on their switches nor their users phones - they are already using CDR management inhouse. Most of the clients have either Nortel or Avaya products and we need something that allows a smooth/seamless transition regardless of type of end-user equipment. One option we may look into is the Intel CT Connect incase we need a middleware if Nortel doesn't offer something compatible. I am totally new to all this so I hope I explained it properly.

Any ideas/information would be greatly appreciated!

Hi!!

As far as I know (Correct me if wrong!!) Nortel does not support CSTA.
Nortel 61C provides CTI interface via Meridian Link Services which is the standard CTI interface. U need to have a min. of 20 CCS 200 agents in Symposium to have this interface enabled. This would provide u with 3rd party call control API's and also the event interfaces for the M1.

Nortel provides its own CTI middleware based on MS TAPI. U can use that as a TSP (Telephony Service Provider) to integrate your applications. alternatively u can use a standard middleware like Intel Netmerge (formerly Dialogic CT-Connect).

I hope this answers your question.

Hi,

Thank you for your information. You are correct, Nortel doesn't support CSTA.
