Nortel Contivity Recovery Diskette 1

Our Nortel Contivity 1740 hard disk has failed, also the recovery diskette we made appears to be corrupt. Does anyone have a copy of the image required to make a new recovery diskette? I am unable to make another using our unit because of the hard disk failure.

I would be surprised if Nortel did not allow a download from their web site for that device. I would call them if you cant find it and ask them. Generally when the units are shipped they come with a recovery diskette with a basic config. If you have that you can recover the system and start your restore (assuming you have a valid backup).
 
Unfortunately Nortel do not offer this recovery disk for download (That would be too easy ... I am expecting too much? [thumbsdown]).

It appears that the only way a recovery disk can be made is with a working Contivity. As our Contivity is not working (and strangely enough ... needs recovering) I can not make a recovery disk in this way.

We did make a disk when we first had the unit this doesn't work now (mental note to self ... make lots of recovery disks in future). We do have several valid backups of the hard drive though, but without the recovery disk we are basically stuffed! [sad]

As we own no other Nortel boxes it looks like we may have to go down the route of purchasing a refurb Contivity 1740 so we can create a new recovery disk. [smile]
