Contivity client is version 4.60 128bit. When installed on W2K workstation w/SP3. After installing and clicking restart, computer continuously reboots to blue screen error message: Stop 0X000000C2 Bad_Pool_Caller.
Has anyone seen this? Found info on Microsoft's site that says install SP3. That doesn't work.
Can boot into safe mode and uninstall client to make windows usable.
I'm going to check and see what other software is installed on these machines. Have a couple dozen W2K users that have not had any issues installing or using the client.

I also posted this in the Remote Access Forum

You might have another vpn product installed on the machine.
Nortel does not play pretty with Cisco.Check the services running on the machine.

I have run into this issue with XP and W2k before. In my case it was the result of network adapter management software that was installed. Look for anything like "Intel Pro Set" or anything that may have a handle on the network settings. I uninstalled this software and was able to get the Nortel client to function correctly.

Thanks for the input. There are no other vpn clients or ipsec clients installed on either machine. I will check the network adapter management.
Thanks again.
when I find the problem I will post it.

I've been searching for the last week for a solution to a similar issue ... different stop error:

STOP: 0X000000D1 (0X0000FF7D, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0XEB4769F6) DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
(no reference to a specific file)

Details: Fresh build of W2k with all the latest patches. Blue screen occurs after install of VPN Contivity Client 4.15 or 4.60 (slightly different error codes for each).

THANK YOU for the tip on Intel PROSet. I uninstalled from Add / Remove programs and voila! No more blue screen.

For more info on Intel PROset see:
Thanks again!

I have the same problem. All is fine until I actually connect to the access point. The program won't BSOD my 2kAS until it connects!?! The PROSet fix is a good idea, but didn't help me. I've never had a problem with my Cisco VPN client. Boo Nortel. I'm going to try to get v4.6x and see what happens...

This sounds like you have A DSL Provider with WinPoet Installed???
The best method is to remove both the VPN Client and the PPPoE software provided from your ISP. Then contact your DSL provider and ask them for a Winpoet Update (If Available?
Then re-install the DSL Software (PPPoE) and re-install ther Contivity VPN Client.

After further investigation and not being able to duplicate the error..........knuckleheads have another client installed on their systems. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
That was the first thing I told them before they installed the software. Make sure there are no other clients installed. Thanks for all the posts.

Jdoe. Are you using the Contivity for wireless authentication? If so let me know how that is working. We might consider doing the same thing. I just didn't know how that would work.

Disabling the Cisco service was not enough (although I had done such b4?)...The Cisco VPN also installs the deterministic network enhance, but I disabled that too...guess you can't disable it enough for Nortel to work...problem is, how do u support 2 sites when one is cisco and the other nortel...that's a lot of uninstalling and reinstalling...

I also was getting the Blue screen error message: Stop 0X000000C2 Bad_Pool_Caller. I'm running Windows 2000 SP3 with a DSL line. My problem was my PPPoe software WinPoet. I got a router with PPPoe funtionality and removed my Winpoet software then loaded the Contivity 4.60 software. Works now.
