I have tried the reset botton on the back and the 1100 and it will not boot in the recovery mode. I then tried using my PC to get the management address and used my browser to get into the management screen which still require a password. I have tried (admin setup) (admin reset) with no luck. Are there any other passwords to use in this area? Thanks

Hello Tim,

You will need a "Recovery" disk (floppy disk) in order to perform a "factory default" on the contivity unit. Provide your Email address and I can send you instructions and a floppy image.

Hello Tim,

After reviewing 1100 documention, the 1100 doesn't have a floppy drive. Below is an excerpt from the installation doc.

################
The recessed recovery switch boots the recovery image. To boot the recovery
image, press the switch by inserting a paper clip into it during the power-on
self-test memory test. For more information about system recovery, see Nortel
VPN Router Trouble-Shooting (NN46110-602) (315900-E).

Have you tried to hook up a serial cable to the Contivity? You should get a memory count; do you then get an administrator login prompt?

To load a Recovery Image on Contivity 1010, 1100, 1050's:
Depress the small button labled "rec" in the back of the unit while powering up the unit --
specifically right after the memory check. At that point, you can web into the former
address and either reload from factory defaults or restore from a previous FTP backup.
