Nortel Conference Unit

I recently purchased a Nortel Conference Unit for the
Norstar System, the phone it self works fine however the limitations ars only 1 external and 1 internal call. I do believe this is because the system see it as an M7100, my question is, can the set type be change or is there a work around for more than 1 external conference.

Just tp be a little more detail, I can make the first external call, I have to dial 9 then the number, then feature 2 puts is on hold the next dial tone i get is the system dial tone for internal call only and i cannot make an additional external call. Hope to get a work arounf to this problem.

does it have 2 intercoms programed to it

if it is seeing it as a 7100 ,you can try to plug in a 7100 and try it (at least you will have a display to show what is happening)

If it sees it as a 7100, a 7100 can only have 1 intercom.

that's the issue and it hidden deep in the manual that 1 external and 1 internal, however in my view that defeats the purpose of a conference unit with such limits, i was really hoping someone could offer a work around tip?

the conference unit is design for a group of people in the same room to be able to be on the conference, not to make multi line conferences

if you have link capability (three way calling) on the telco lines you could have 3 outside calls at once

If it's a Nortel/Polycom conference set you can have to intercoms programmed and it will work for 2 external callers and 1 internal or 2 internal and 1 external. If you have centrex lines you can use the conference feature on the line this works well.
