Can anyone translate these software versions:

SP30AGK07NAT - I believe this is a CICS expanded. Can I add a Startalk (refurbed) or Call Pilot 100 to this?

MICS DR7 - can I add a PRI card?

SP 30nCG19NAT - CICS - not sure beyond that?

1st- sp30ag- Is a CICS 2.0 exp. and yes you can connect a StarTalk to it. If you want a CallPilot you need to upgrade to at least 4.1.

2nd- You can have a PRI on anything release 4.0 or higher, you said dr 7.0 so your good to go with that.

3rd- sp30nc- Is a MICS w software release R1 T1.

Thanks - will all these software releases support trunk to trunk transfer? If I have multiple sites and a call comes in at site 1 that is meant for site 2 instead of having the caller hang up and dial the number can i use trunk to trunk transfer to send to site 2? Could I set it up as a speed dial number so that I could hit the transfer button, then speed call number assigned to site 2's phone number.

Are the lines @ your locations CENTREX? If so, you can use the LINK feature (hookflash), or F*71 to transfer the call to another number just using the one line. Check the System Coordinator Guide document for instructions to use LINK with external AUTODIAL buttons. If the lines are not Centrex, then you will use the system transfer which uses two lines for the duration of the call.

There is a line feature available from Pacific Bell in California called CALL TRANSFER DISCONNECT. It is for non-Centrex lines, and provides the 3-way call transfer feature. It is available on a per line basis. Other service providers may have it also.

I can't do trunk-to-trunk transfer so an alternative would be external call forward. Is external call forward supported on these software releases? I believe I have read on other threads that a MICS has to be 4.1 but I'm not sure about the CICS and if R1 T1 is higher than 4.0 on the MICS.

Please explain why you can't do trunk-to-trunk transfers...

To claridy - I can do trunk to trunk transfer but it ties up two lines from the originating location and volume is a concern. I am using voip lines that are converted to analog to connect into my analog line cards in the Nortel phone system so I can't get a link to drop the lines. Trunk to trunk transfer could work but the dialing is cumbersome.

Maybe you should inquire about what I posted above with your provider. With the features in the CICS like Speed Calling and Autodial and proper training, the anything cumbersome will be gone!

If your provider can't do real phone line features, you should change to one that can.

Curlycord - thanks for the info on Vonage. It is very similar to the service we are getting but does not have the call transfer capabilty.
Jim - I am not the DM on who we use - I just try to make things work as much as possible. Thanks for your comment regarding Auto Dial and Speed Dial. I will look into it reducing the cumbersome dialing options.
