I have been doing Nortel for a couple years now.
I am looking for a guide to doing call restrsictions.
Does such a thing exist?
If not, can someone help.
I know how to program the system, I just need guidance into which features to program for call restrictions on lines and or sets. Where thoose features are at in the menu tree, and how to program the sets or lines to not be able to make ANY toll calls, but still be able to make toll free calls.

Basic need at this point:
CICS 7.1 set up in restaruant. Need to restrict outgoing calls on all lines on 3 of the 4 sets in the facility.
Thanks

If u don't want sets to make outbound calls then don't assign line or pool access to them. To restrict sets from making LD calls, u need to setup restriction filters abd then assign said filter to the DN. All info can be found in the sustem coordinator guide.

Dasheen, what you say is true. The reason for having the lines on the extensions, is because the turnover rate for the 16 to 18 somethings that answer the calls and take orders is steep, and they want it to be easy to transfer calls to managers, "answer lines, put um on hold, page out who the call is for, and move on. They dont even want a pickup group.
I am sure I could find chapters in the sys coord guide but I was hoping for the average user, laymans terms, how to. As I mentioned.
Does such a thing exist?
Thanks for your help.

No separate guide that I know of.
I have been off the road for 8 some odd years or more but memory has it as:

Under any set (XXX) in Terminals and Sets:
XXX/Restritcions/Filters
Create/Show filter 10
-01 Add 0
-02 Add 1
-03 Add 411
-04 Add 900
-05 Add 976

Go back to -02 (1) and press SHOW
Add exceptions:
-01 Add 800
-02 Add 888
-03 Add 877
-04 Add 866

Now you can go to any line or set and apply filter 10 to it.

You can also create a COS password to override the restriction.
When you have created a password press show again and tell it to use Fitler 03 whic is no restrictions.
