Installed Nortel Busy Lamp Field on the Nortel M2250 Console. The Console is connected to the Nortel Meridian SL-1 Option 11C. I defined the BLF in the system database. The display is up and running, however it is not displaying the idle extension nor the busy extension. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the pdf. The Unit is up and running. The screen is lit.The Main Menu is displayed on the backlit screen. I am able to access the Menu via the Shift key and the BLF key on the console. However when I choose 0 BUSY LAMP FIELD from the Main Menu. The BLF do not display the status of the extensions within the system. The START EXT is blank and the END EXT is blank.

I've looked through the different prompts. I think it's one of the options below.

LD 12 EBLF (BLFD) BLFA Enhanced Busy Lamp Field (Denied) Allowed

EBLF (BLFD) Enhanced Busy Lamp Field Denied basic-15
BLFA Enhanced Busy Lamp Field Allowed
Prompted when TYPE = 2250 and OPT = IBL
or ILF in LD 15.

In LD 15, have you set the start DN?.

LFFD x00..x00 First DN of lamp field array for ILF. basic-1
The system shows the status of the next 150
consecutive DNs. Last two digits of first DN must
be 00. First DN must start on even 100 (e. g.,
3400 is acceptable, but 3450 is not).
Precede with X to remove. Prompted when OPT
= ILF.

LFTN l s c u Lamp Field array Terminal Number basic-1
LFTN is prompted again for a second lamp field
array. For Supervisory Console, when assigning
lamp field array to show Attendant status, enter
the secondary TN of the console
To remove the second LFTN, enter "0". To
remove both LFTNs, enter XLF in response to
prompt OPT. Prompted when OPT = ILF. Not
allowed for 2000/3000 series telephones.
c u For Small System

OPT = IBL Include Enhanced Busy Lamp Field
IBL and ILF cannot be used together. Only with
M2250 Attendant Console (DCON) package 140.

OPT = ILF Include Lamp Field array

EBLF xx yy zz basic-14
Enhanced Busy Lamp Field
Where:
• xx = the number of customers (1-99) to
receive the feature
• yy = average number of hundreds groups
per customer
• zz = average DN length (4, 5, 6 or 7 digits)

I've also found this tip below.

busy lamp field no display (BLF) WHEN INSTALLING OR REPAIRING CONSOLE.

IT IS VERY EASY TO PLUG IN THE RIBBON CABLE AT THE BACK
OF THE UNIT THE WRONG WAY ROUND.

NB THERE SOULD BE A REVERSAL IN THIS LEAD IE ONE TWIST

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

If I remember correctly - the BLF only displays 100 numbers so if your ext are 4 digits, operator has to enter 1st 2 digits before you see anything on diplay.
