Nortel BSR 222 DHCP issues????

I have installed a Nortel BSR 222 Router and is configured with DHCP enabled. We are experiencing multiple IP conflicts on the network. Each time a new PC is added to the network with DHCP enabled it creates IP conflicts on other PC's on the network. We have replaced the router with another and also checked for recent Firmware patches. We have had a Linksys router and Nortel VPN 251 on this same network without any problems until we used this new product. Out tech support guys have no idea. Need help!

Sounds like you have more than one DHCP server on the network.

Turn off your BSR and do an ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew on a PC and see if it gets an IP address.

We have removed the router and tried IPconfig just to make sure one of the servers wasnt running DHCP and to our conclusion there isnt another DHCP app running. This problem did not start until we went with this new product from Nortel. The only reason we swapped the Nortel 251 to the BSR 222 was because of the VPN client termination which the 251 did not support.

Check the scope of IP's and ensure that you don't have conflicts with anything statically assigned in your network.

I use a 222 at home and on the road and have no difficulties.

All statics are out of the scope. In the DHCP table you will see which IP address that was assigned to the client host name and MAC address. At times I will check this table to see what addresses are assigned and to whom. The table without reason deletes some of the MAC and Host name out of the table but shows the IP address still under lease. When I plug another PC into the network the DHCP server attempts to hand one of the addresses that shows under lease but contains no info whom the address is leased to until someone in the company complains they have an IP conflict pop up on there PC. Does nt make much sense. There has been reported by Nortel known anomolies with this product but they dont show this to be one of them.

We were finally able to get Nortel on the phone to look at it. They agreeded there might be something wrong happening. Another sight is acting the same way after installing one last week.

I wanted to know how were you able to contact Nortel on this issue. Did you have to pay them per instance or was it covered in your contract.
