Hello everyone,

I have a Nortel BCM50. This system was installed in our old office location, and worked perfectly. I relocated the system to our new office, and something is not quite right. Mountains of notes were taken as to how it all connects etc. I am very confident the wiring it correct.

We have 6 POTS lines coming in 4 of which connect to the main unit (lines 061-064), the other two lines will connect to the expander (lines 066 & 067) but are currently not connected at this moment. I am currently using T7316E digital phone sets, and they are only connected to the main unit at this time (5 in total), no sets are on the expander yet. These lines are all assigned to Pool A. All the sets, are configured to use Pool A.

My problem is when hitting the Line Out button (which is configured to access Pool A) on any of the phones, it chooses Line 6 or if pressed again Line 7. It never picks up the lines on the main unit, even when all the sets in question are actually connected to the main unit. The lines show up in the Element Manager just like they always have before the move. There were no programming changes other than adding Line 6 & 7 because we didn't have that many in the old location.

Intercom to Intercom works fine, if I assign a particular line to a set, it works. Only the automatic selection of the lines from the pool is not. I am now at a loss, and hoping someone here with more experience can help me out.

Thank you,
Brian

remove lines 6,7 from the pool A.
If thes lines are not connected then you will still try to pick them up and not get dial tone.
So make them Public then lines 1,to 4 will still be in pool A.
Now when you dial 9 they will go to line 4 first.
061- pool A
062- pool A
063- Pool A
064- Pool A
065- Polol A
066- Public
067- Public

when you eventually connect the lines to 6,7 then reassign them back to poolA so as you can access them

OMG! Thank you so much! I can't believe it was that simple. So the system picks lines in reverse order, that's why I was having problems, I assumed it would start at line 1 and go down the list, not at the bottom and go up.

Everything is working perfectly now!

Thanks again!

Brian
