One of our salesmen has sold a customer an upgrade to an IPO from a BCM50, and they are planning to re-use their existing phones. I found that the 30a modules support an amphenol connection, but does anyone know if the pinout is the same for both systems? i.e. could you unplug the amphenols from the bcm, plug them straight into the IPO, and power up all the phones?
Logic says that as Avaya took over Nortel, that it would be the obvious thing to do, however I'm not holding my breath.

BTW I've never worked on a Nortel in my life.

Avaya modules max out at 30 extns, I believe the BCM was 32, but they both use 2 wires only AFAIK :)

The BCM50 amphenol connection support 12 digital phones. From pair 13 to pair 24.
If the bcm has 16 extension expansion it's the first 16 pairs.
If the bcm has 32 extension expansion they use 2 amphenol cables with 16 extension each.
On the Avaya expansion 30a you will need 2 amphenol cables and if I can recall correctly on the first you get 16 and on the second 14.
