Greetings

Could someone please tell me how to reset the configuration to factory default for Nortel Switches? For the pupose of disposing the switch, can anyone be able to recover the previous setting (information) once it is reset to defult?
Appreciate any help you can offer

It depends on the model and age of the switch. Some old switches have a default password that can be entered within a few seconds of boot, and I know Nortel can generate passwords based on the system MAC address (if you have support) - depends on how much keeping the current config intact is worth to you.

If you search this group for 'baystack password' you'll come up with several hundred hits, I'd start there.

Best of luck.
