Nortel 3904 - Date and Time Display Only 1

Hello,

I have remote access to Nortel switch in our call center, I am getting reports that two Nortel 3904 phones are only displaying time and date and no extension number. First question is why are Nortel phones showing time and date and what does it mean that phone is not also displaying extension too? Also is there a command or process to determine which TN it is connected to that I can correct this problem.

May also be as simple as the shift key being pressed.
But, probably disabled.
 
In the past, I had the same issue but with phones M3903 and M3904 : two things either problem with firmware or display issue with phone or as said by

@... make sure they are enable, up to date firmware and test the display locally on the phone to make sure everything is ok.

If it is firmware issue, temporally fix will be disabling and enabling the TN or unplug and plug it back. After few days, the same issue will come back...

If you know the DN (extension of that phone), you can simply search the DN LD 20

DN : type dn

You will see the TN associated with that DN.

Learning is not enough, you have to apply it...
 
It's disabled, you could enable all the cards to see if you can find it this way. If it still doesn't come back, the TN could have been removed from programming and it is just connected to a port. This might do this was well.

I have seen this on 3904 sets when they are programmed as something other than a 3904. They will even receive calls, the display is just messed up.
