Does anyone know why Nortel stopped producing the 380-24t model?
 
The 5510-24 replaced the 380-24. Less product overlap, plus the 5500 series is a layer 3 switch, and the 380 was only layer 2.
 
And it has more space CPU cycles for new features like IPFix flow monitoring. There are also other products based on the 5500 platform: 5520 for PoE, 5530 for 10G uplinks, plus 48 port versions.
