I have the voicemail set up on individual phones however I don't know how to get the voicemail to answer. I have tried programming the lines with the number of rings but do I need to somehow set up each voicemail extension with a line?

You need to tell the lines to be answered by the table you programmed.

I think you are asking about DN call forward no answer to voice mail

Yes, getting the voicemail to pick up after it rings 3 or 4 times.

It is 250

So assign 250 under Capabilities/Forward No Answer per above.

If you have no idea how to program the phone system or its password then you need to call a tech in.
Most people call a tech in, get a brief admin training then ask questions here when stuck on an issue.
