I have an existing MICS customer who purchased a digital FAX server card and wants DID service for the FAX service. Is there a way to bring an ISDN-PRI circuit into the Norstar, setup a cross-over T1 trunk from the MICS over to the FAX server and route DID calls over to the FAX server from the MICS? Essentially, making the MICS a tandem for the FAX server when the right DID is seen on the ISDN-PRI circuit.

Current thoughts are to use outbound transfer with routes and destination codes to bounce the calls over the T1 trunk toward the FAX server using the call pilot. Not sure if that would work though.

thats how i have done it ...and hey it works
what fax server is that?

They purchased a Brooktrout TR1000/TR1034 board. So, you are using the outbound transfer through the voicemail to send your calls to the FAX server? Any specific tips would be greatly appreciated. --thx!

nothing to do with VM

1. the DID recd # (example 1212)is programmed as a destination code

2. that destination code is programmed to access a route, with the T1 to the Fax Server

3. Allow remote permissions (from incoming PRI to outgoing T1)

Hope this points you in the right direction

Hey Senks, If I understand you correctly, (to use your example) 1212 comes in across the PRI, drops in a target line. I know on the T1 side you would use a destination code with 1212 pointing to a route that, in turn points to the T1.
What I'm vague about is how you get the target line to look at the destination code...would you use remote access packages? I've used those for tandeming calls across a BCM from another system in the network, but it's been awhile.

you got it crowtalks, except there should be no target line with 1212 as recd #

here is the long, sleepy story type version :)

the digits (1212) comes on the physical PRI (eg lines 1-23), and norstar looks at the destination code and decides to use that, which takes it to the other T1 and ...
