I have a Call Pilot 150 and need some advise on programming Greeting table 1.

I have "business open" and "business closed" greetings which is no problem to set start times within the greeting table. Now I am adding a 3rd greeting for "Saturday open" and am running into conflicts on how to program this greeting into the table without affecting the other 2 greeting settings.

My question is: For Monday - if I set a start time of 8:00 am under the morning column and then leave the afternoon and evening columns blank and finally set a non-business start time of 9:00 pm...will the morning greeting continue to play until 9:00 pm?

I am not sure if you can leave any of the columns blank without any times and how the Call Pilot will interrupt the missing entries.

Thank you for reading my question.

Do you mean Saturday has a special greeting? or did you just want it to play the normal Open greeting?

Saturday is to have a special greeting for when they are open.

I guess my main question is...can you leave any of the entry fields blank in the greeting tree.

Example...Monday morning has an entry of 8:00 am with a greeting and CCR tree assigned, Monday afternoon and Monday evening are blank with no greeting and CCR tree assigned and finally Monday non-business has 5:00 pm with a greeting and CCR tree assigned.

I thinking this would work as the morning greeting kicks in on the assigned start time and will not change until the clock reached the non-business assigned time. Since there are no start times for afternoon and evening, they will not stop the morning greeting from playing.

Am I wrong in my understanding of the greeting tree?

On my BCM its a drop down menu with no blank listed as a choice....never felt the need to use "blank".

Here is an example I usually program as:
-greeting one to play morn and afternoon with evening playing a closed one and/or non business reserved for snow days etc which can be turned on remotely via MB 102

You can choose to use another tree/table for Saturday or perhaps do as above but use non-business for Saturday.

I forget how the priority works but might be if two greetings are told to play at the same time then the first one is played.

Thanks Curlycord for the info.

I tried numerous variations in my shop and found the following...

- the greeting table will not allow you to leave a blank time. It forces you to make an entry
- if 2 companies are sharing the Call Pilot and each has their own tel lines...then no problem with 2 different daytime greetings as they each have their own table. But if they share the same tel lines then the conflict occurs with the daytime greetings as one of them takes priority.
- solution is to record a daytime greeting that applies to both companies. This would also apply to a night message
- when changing the time and date on the Norstar phone system so as to test different scenarios, it can take up to 10 minutes before the Call Pilot recognizes the change

Nortel made this voicemail back in the 80's so it has it's limitations. When a Customer required special needs then Nortel would sell them a whole new phone system...system upgrade. Good way to make money.

Thanks again for looking onto this Curlycord.
