I have an older meridian 2 VM System. I have install 2 DVC 2-port cards. The first card both ports work. Second card only first port works. I have 2 lines (275, 276) connected into ports 1 and 2 on DVC Card 1. They work fine. I want to add another line for DVC Card 2 port 1, so i can have 6 VM channels. When i unplug one of the lines from DVC 1 and plug it into DVC 2 it works fine and sees the lines and the port. However when I connect another phone line and DN (272) to DVC 2 port 1 it doesnt see it, and if i leave it in ther it crashes my phone system. I have to reboot the VM and unplug the line. However i can plug a phone into the line and it works ok. Is there settings i have to change to make that DN(272) work with the VM? Does the VM DN's have to be consecutive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a "copper" NAM...right?

Each station port supports 2 chnls. 3 ports = 6 chnls.
If you only have keycodes for 6 chanls., only the top port will be active.

In regards to it crashing your system, I have not seen that, but it is possible, I suppose.

Use F915-923 to verify the total number of available chnls.

Copper NAM - YES. I have entered the key codes and it has read back that the ports were increased. However My system is pretty old and doesnt have the channel port option under the F916.

I dont know if this will help but here is a copy of how to put one into a NAM II from the Norstar manual. I havnt put one in for quite a few years.

This is my setup, first DVC in slot 3 and second DVC in slot 5. So from the pics of the manual I guess i need to move the DVC from slot 3 to slot 2. Second I dont have another RFI Adapter, where can i get one. Also id the teladapt cable different from a regular phone cord?

Can anyone tell me if the RFI Filter is necessary, and what exactly it the difference between a Teladapt Jack and Teladapt cord vs. a standard RJ-11 Base/wall jack and phone cord.

Thanks for the reply guys. I thinkg i figured it out. The DN i was trying to use for the third line and port on the NAM didnt seem to work properly. it would pick up and register on newer phones but had a hard time registering and powering up on older phones if it even made it that far. I switched DN's and it seems to work now, however is a little difficult to get 6 phones dialed in on VM at same time. I got 5 but wasnt quick enough to get 6. So Im happy now.

How do i disable them, besides unplugging them.
