Norstar M7310 VM extension

I recently switched out a malfunctioning phone on ext. 701 and made sure the SET RELOCATION was on NO so the phone would have the same settings.
Everything works fine, people call ext. 701 and it rings. The only problem is at no answer the VM goes to GENERAL MAILBOX instead of to 701's MAILBOX.
The FWD NO ANSWER is set to the default 303 (the system mailbox).
How can I make the VM's go to 701 instead of GENERAL MAILBOX.
 
Well, after messing with the phone the internal ext. stopped working. when I dial 701 I hear a busy signal.
 
Check the port of the extension in maintenance and see if state of port is idle or busy. If idle disable port and then re-enable. If that doesn't work use a different port.
 
- make sure the set is 701 by doing F*0 and press Intercom
- make sure mailbox 701 exists and that it shows Subscriber, Ext701 under F983/Admin
- make sure that mailbox 701 has been initialized by the user

Any reason why external call VMs to x701 work fine, but internal VMs to x701 go to GENERAL MAILBOX?

On a different phone x730, all calls were fwding to an external cell # (LEED field tech). Last week it stopped working. I tried to redo FEAT-4 and got "admin denied", then tried FEAT*1 to program speed dial then FEAT-4 to that button, but again "admin denied". The phone did get moved to a different jack, but the extension remained 730. What settings will allow calls to be forwarded to an outside phone (long distance).

ALLOW REDIRECT" needs to be on for that phone to forward off site.
 
ALLOW REDIRECT" is set to YES. Still won't forward.
Interesting tho, front reception was ext. 0 (internal) and 700 (external). Now x700 works, but x0 goes to this x730 phone that won't forward! Every setting change causes another issue. So strange!
Any ideas?

Sounds like you should call a tech in since you dont know what your doing.

Yes I am new to my company and not familiar with Nortel phones. This system is so old they don't want to invest much money into fixing. Next step is a new phone system, but until then I have old Nortel.
I do appreciate these forums that allow me to ask questions. Thx.
