I have a norstar ics 0x32 with 6.1 software. I have installed a T7316 for the receptionist when I go to program the buttons it shows me as seeing the phone as a T7310 so I am unable to utilize all the buttons on the phone any sugestions.

just program the buttons at the phone. You need T7316E to see the buttons in programming

I was recently assigned to manage a Norstar ICS 6.0. Four days ago the Sales manager order the switching places between two employees, they want to keep the same extension and DN. I have very little experience with Nortel Systems and even though I had searched in different manuals that the former administrator left I still cannot find the solution to this issue. Can some one please point me in the right direction where can I get the best way to do it?

elaxalas, you really should have started a new post for this question

Easiest solution for you would be to swap the wiring pair on the cross connect frame. this keeps you out of programming and keeps the numbering sequence straight.

find out what port each phone is (feature * 0 then press view) when you know the ports each is on you can go to the cross connect board and reverse the two pairs. if you are not comfortable with this hire a phone tech to do it and show you how. else you run risk of multiple problems.

If voting could really change things, it would be illegal.

There is a feature in system programming menu where you can set to yes to be able to move phones around the floor and the programming of the phone will move with it without having to move jumpers or change programming of the phone.

alexalas, you should be able to just move the cross-connects going into the phone system and swap the extensions by just moving 4 or 8 wires. I forget whether norstar uses 1 or 2 pair.

Swap the the crosswire! Stay away from "Auto Set Relocation"!!

Just turn on the auto set relocation for the move of the

sets ,Move the sets and then test then turn it

off.Easiest way to do it.If you having to much promblems

best to call a pro.

If you dont know how to use "Auto Set Relocation" or if you use it incorrectly, you will end up with Extention Numbers dissappearing into "Never Never Land" I've gone on plenty of service calls regaring this. How do I correct this problem you ask? I look up the port, swap the crosswire and charge you for my time.
