Norstar Flash Light Upgrade 1

I have a Flash2 that was previously enabled as a Flash Light. I have removed the Light software, shorted the pins on the CAP, and installed fully enabled software v2.0.1. After the initialization is done, the hardware still comes up as a Flash Light. Can I get the VM to accept the new software? I don't want to buy a key code to upgrade the Light as I have two fully enabled SW Cartridges in stock that I would like to use.

Short the pins out again preferbly over night. Initalize the flash with 1.7 0r 1.9 software then reboot with 2.0.
This has worked a number of times for me.

That worked. The v1.7 I have doesn't work but that didn't matter. I shorted the pins, and powered it up for ten minutes with the defective 1.7. Then I powered it up with the 2.0.1 and it worked. Thanks for your help.
