Norstar Compact ICS REL 5 NT7B56FA-93
has 6 active lines and 16 ext only (2 used for Call pilot 100) could not activate another phone set
check the wall jack, the cabling, the signal on each Pair
i moved an active set to this wall jack just for a test, it worked fine
the system would not allow more than 16 active set?

Thanks Gens

Thanks Brian
can i remove and reinstall the one that is presently there while the system is runing, or how can i check if it is active

should install cards when system powered down

you could be looking at the blank plate
or if a card is in place look at the card for symbols
if the card has a clock symbol only ,then you have a clock service card for the bri
if you have a phone symbol you have a 8 station expansion card
and if both symbols are there you have a combo card

also the ports go from 1-16 then 19-24 (on station cable)
the ports 17 and 18 are used for the iata (on the co cable)
and the irad (internally configured)

HALLOWED ARE THE ORI

Do not insert or remove cards with power on. If the card was active then stations would be working on pairs 17-24 of the station cable. You are probably looking at the plastic breakout. I-ATA is on pair 20 of the CO cable.

I am by no means an expert, but I believe that if you do have an 8 port expansion card, beware. Please somebody, correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that if you remove the expansion card and then power up to test anything, you may cold start the CICS and you will have a lot of programming to do. Don't power up without that card in place.

Thanks Roddy MaClean for sharing this very Valuable information that will save me and Lots of time and....

Thanks again
