Good Evening! I hope someone can help me out. We had (apparantly) a lightening strike and our local telephone provider came out and unplugged our phone system and now our Auto Attendant or CCR doesn't work. All calls are coming straight thru and our "on hold" music is not working either. Is there anyone that could help me? I tried using the code to get into Auto Attendant/CCR but it keeps saying invalid code "Feature *831 or 832". WHen I do log in using "Feature **266344, I dont see the auto attendant option either. I have my book with all the instructions, but the code it's telling me to use to change or edit CCR or AA is not valid (*831)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Have you tried a Feature**RESTART on it (within 15 minutes of powerup) to reset the whole thing back to default?

No I havent done a restart. How do you do that?

Yes actually there are 3 grey boxes that have Norstar on them.....one has a red light in it when I open it. How would I go about resetting the voicemail? Or checking to see if that is the issue?

Like I said the voicemail would say Startalk Flash or Callpilot on it, it's a smaller unit then the Norstar system. You can first make sure it's plugged in then try accessing some feature codes like 980-986 and see what the display says on the phones.

I think your right...I tried accessing the vm system and says invalid. Let me go look at the box.

I dont see a box that has those names on it. They all just say Nortsar. There is one big box that keeps trying to connect to something and it's beeping after it doesnt connect. I'm not sure what to unplug and try to reset the voice mail. The smaller box we have says ATA2 and I did unplug that and it didn't do anything.

Beeping box is a NAM voice mail. Beeps are an error, probably the hard drive has fail.

Time for a Norstar tech.

If you only need an Automated Attendant, you can use the one built in the Compact ICS. It isn't as sophisticated as the NAM and it doesn't have voicemail, but it works. You can give it a try to see if it suits your needs.

The built-in Automated Attendant has to be enabled under System Programming > Auto Attendant before it can be use. This is also where you program most of the settings: lines to be answered, number of rings, attendant set, CCR destinations and so on.

Then, you need to turn on the specific features that you want to use: Feature *831 for System Answer and Feature *832 for CCR.
