We have two incoming analog lines. Users were trying to win a radio contest (I can't make this stuff up). They dialed the number and when hearing the busy singal, they hung up and pressed last number, over and over again. The last time the phone did not appear to hang up, so they tried the second line over and over, soon the second line went out as well. When the numbers are dialed from the outside they appear to be busy. I have powered the system off for about 15 minutes and powered it up again. When pressing either line one or two, system pauses, then we hear a fast busy signal and the LCD reads not in service. Anyone seen anything like this? Thanks - Art

If the screen said not in service then its a porblem with the KSU.
Is supervised selected under line programming?
It is probaly a bug/glitch caused by greedy people lol.
Never heard of that problem before but if the lines still not come back after a couple reboots then you will need to do a system startup(default programmin) with 15 minutes of powering up the KSU and reprogram everything to clear this glith.
What model KSU? 3X8?

I have not been to the site at this time and do not know if there is dialtone at the demarc, I will be checking that first thing.
This is a NorStar 4 X 16. I will look at the "supervised" setting in the AM. Thanks to both for the suggestions.

Check card/port status in maint.
Take out the cards and reseat them.

Just two for you.

You can also disable your line card and re-enable it, however the reboot would have accomplished the same thing. But you can give it a try if you want, and yes you should check the "supervised" option for the lines.

When you check for dial tone at the demarc, lift off the jumpers to the equipment. The equipment could be holding the lines up. If so, simply disconnecting and reconnecting the jumpers may clear the trouble.
