Me again. I have another office that I recently upgraded the S/W from 4.1 to 7.1 (MICS). After I sorted through all the drama that came from the upgrade and thought I had it all fixed, I got an email from the receptionist that their caller ID was not displaying on the phones.

I have gone into the browser window and changed everything I could find that dealt with caller ID, but it still doesn't display the number. I know it worked before, because the displays would show "Calls For You" and you could access the call log. I even went into the sets and added call log entries (they were all set to 0 with 600 remaining), but still nothing.

Logs don't affect whether clid will display on a phone.

First, I'm assuming they do have CI cards on the system, and not LSDS. (LSDS cards won't translate the clid)

Second, are they seeing the clid after the call is answered? If not, you may have to do some on site troubleshooting, starting with putting a butt set on the demarc...

Third, caller id will only display before a call is answered on ringing sets, or transferred calls. Is the Auto Attendant answering at less than 2 rings? If so, the system will never see the clid. Bump it up to 2 rings, and it should start working.

If none of these fit, it's probably something in programming, and we'll have to break down how things are set up.

No auto attendant at this site. They do have the CI cards in the KSU. and they aren't seeing the CLID at all. I don't have a butt-set that will display caller ID yet, but I do have one on order. However, I do know that we have the caller ID service on the POTS lines for that building.

don't need a special butt set...you should hear data stream of caller id in monitor mode when line is ringing..after approx 1.5 rings.
caller id is programmed on a per set and line basis under telephone features in config programming.

Line must ring to show auto call id
Set must have Call ID set to yes in programming
Lines must be assigned under Sets/Telco Features??

Log 0 of 600 means nobody has a log programmed yet
If you assign 20 to that set then it would show 580
