can you backup a cics and restore the programing to a mics?

Actually, it's MAYBE and NO.
If you want to look at the backup file of the older 6X16, and 8X24 systems, you can print reports from the backup file that will show you everything by using the old Norstar Manager 2.0 or 2.1.
That function has been removed from the newer NRU stuff.
Boo hoo, sob sob. Was a nice feature.
Sounds like you are wanting to do CICS ans MICS stuff though, so that puts it back to NO and NO unless you want to acquire an Excel spreadsheet of the programming using OLP.

Reading the NRU book, you can see what you programmed by using the OLF and acquiring a partial or full programming. I have not tested this because I have not done much Off Line Programming, but this is what the book SORT of states.

But like everyone else says. Cant backup and restore from CICS to MICS.
