We have an established Norstar 8x24 system that we recently had to replace the voicemail. We purchased a Flash VM that everyone says is compatible, but the system just doesn't recognize the VM. Any Ideas?

What is the RLS of the 8x24 & Flash. Also what do you get when you try F903?

Sorry. That would be useful info.
8x24 is 30MVJ20 DR5
Flash VM I have tried 1.7 and 1.9. We have cards for both.

XFTest returns no registered functions.

therefore f903 returns inactive

Have you tried resetting and then re-initializing? Thats where I would start considering you are starting from default anyway.

already done. didnt help. Now F983 works but it just rings and rings. LIke its trying to call the voicemail and the voicemail isn't answering.

Hi rhys8582,
One thing you could try is to power down both units and then power the Flash first, then the 8x24 and wait a while. I know it sounds stupid but I've noticed that sometimes it takes a while for the switch to recognize the V/M.
Thanks,
John

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than to have a frontal lobotomy

One more thing that has got me, patience, re-boot, walk away for 5 or 10 min. and try it again. I had one ring, ring, ring and after 5 min. it would respond.

okay, check this one out. The voicemail is there, if I dial the extention, I get the Log screen, but none of the feature codes are working. Splain that.

okay, I think I got it. Thanks for all your help. I did another xftest, and the feature code 963 poped up. When I dialed it it allowed me to select my feature code range, like the 903 should. kinda strange that it showed up under 963 instead of 903, but I selected my feature codes and everything SEEMS to be dandy. Thanks again.
