Norstar 616 upgrade to DR 5.1 1

OK guys its been a while since I had to do anything to a 616 so your input is appreciated. I have a 616 DS that I need to upgrade from DR 5 to DR 5.1 to support a startalk flash. Is this simply a matter of swapping
the software cart or is it going to need to be rebuilt from scratch?

Yep been awhile but pretty sure you need to re-program since programming is on the cartridge unlike CICS and MICS.

Suggest you do a STARTUP on the old software in case you sell it etc then it will be clean.

Do same when you install new DR5.1

DR 5 DS will support voice mail. The only change in 5.1 is the ability to turn off the page tone.

5.1 also makes it compatible with the CallPilot, but that's a moot point since the OP has a Flash. DR5-DS should work fine with the Flash.

Thanks for the responses guys. The switch to DR5.1 was because the DR5 version came up as being one or two subversions short
on the compatibility chart. But I may just install it and see if it works, and if not I will start over and rebuild the switch.

6x16 is so old it would just be worth talking the customer into a upgrade of some sort, CICS or something.
