Norstar 0x32 beep sound on extensions sets.

Good Morning/Afternoon!

I have noticed that on several if not in all extensions when a caller is on the line (001,002,003,004) they can hear an incoming call with a beep sound on the hand set. They are not or should not be part of the receptionist area hunt group (Answering group). Is there something that I can disable so other staff members do not hear the sound.

As stated in another thread, you have "Call Waiting" on your lines...

I will see if the provider was contacted to remove the call waiting and make them rollover lines.

Might be quicker to get someone on the line at that location, then place another call to the same extension to see if it is actually call waiting (they hear the beep). Why wait around for the phone company when you can get to the bottom of it right now! Get the weekend rolling!

Hello Eddie,

Thanks for your reply. The issue was that the phone provider had the lines ringing with call waiting. So they removed the call waiting and it worked.
The lines were in rollover but with call waiting. They rang for about 12 rings and then it would ring on line 002.
