Could anybody help me by clearing my doubt -
Is there any way that we can connect normal telephones or fax machines as extensions to the norstar exchange ?
Only to transfer the calls and to make internal calls.

Yes, however you need to have ports configured for "analog" service. Your Norstar may or may not have this capability already depending on its configuration and model.

The CICS system has one built in analog port located on the yellow slate pair of the connector that shares the CO lines with it. for other KSU's you would need an Analog Terminal Adapter (ATA) that converts a digital port (normal) to an analog phone. JerryReeve

As our friends have said, it depends on the model of the Norstar.
The newer models (Compact Plus) have 1 in built ATA, but older models will require 1 ATA per extn.
The ATA's are well marked, one pair connects to the digital Krone connector & the other pair is the Analogue pair out of the ATA which you connect to the outgoing pair of wires to the telephone, fax, ans/machine,etc.
