Hi,

My application will be generating CSV files for viewing in Excel. They would not be given the same title each time.

I would like to have a macro (hopefully from a toolbar button) that would format the sheet in the way the users want the sheet to be displayed (conditional formatting, colors, column sizing). I can create the macro but how do I make it available each time they open a spreadsheet?

Thanks in advance for your assistance,

Michael

Create it in their Personal Workbook, it will be available to every workbook then.

Michael,

Excel does not have a similar file.

However, if you create a macro in a workbook, it stays with that workbook and is available any time you open the workbook.

Skip,

Molby,

Is this the correct location for the file you said to work with:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

Yep, that's the one. If you record a blank macro in Excel, it will prompt you where to save the macro. The default option is in "This workbook", you can change this to "Personal Macro Workbook". This will create a Personal workbook for you.

BTW,

If you put the macro in your Personal Workbook, it will NOT be available ...each time they open a spreadsheet?

Skip,
Quite right, what I should of said was to create the Personal workbook, then save it in the directory for each user on their own PC.

Since the macro will only be necessary for two other people to utilize, I can create it on mine and then recreate the macros on their computers.

Thanks for all your help.
