I'm using Elements on my Mac OSX. I tried to open it last night and it proceeded to update the online components automatically.... AWEXfiles.txt and AWEDFiles.AWE. My problem is that it's stalled on dowloding and I cant cancel and can't use Elem. I tried force quit but it just starts all over again when I open the app. Help!

Restart the computer, reinstall Elements from the original CD. You have one don't you?

...never used elements but have a look in the utilities folder for an Adobe Updater application (which is part of a CS install)...
...you can either try running it and disabling the auto connect or just trash it if it becomes annoying...
