Hi,

we planed to get couple switch in this case 4226 and 4250, did anyone have configured stacking 4226 and 4250 and able to tell me after use either up/down for stacking on both switch what happen to the other gb port, can it be used to connnect to other device such as a server? I've never worked with 3com switch before and can't find anywhere in the doc. mentioning about this, and my reseller told me it might or might not.

TIA
Dennis

Yes use the up down cables to stack ( a maximum of 4 units)
the switch uses a protocol to create the stack.

This would leave you with 2 spares ports (unit 1 and unit 4) as both 2+3 would have both up/down in use. These spare ports can be used for normal 1000Base-t connections.
