Hey there,

First off, I'm an IT guy, not a phone guy... I was kind of thrust into this after our phone vendor left for the other side of the country.

Anyway, on to the problem. For one of our phone lines, the user has set DND and voicemail will not pick up. I have verified that other lines work correctly and voicemail picks up even when DND is activated.

Can anyone help with this problem, or is more info needed?

Thanks!

Josh

We need to know what kind of system first off. Second, when you say "lines" are you talking about extensions or outside lines?

Turn on busy no answer call forward to voice mail at the extension.

Sorry...

Could you explain or point me to how to do this?

Thanks!

Go to that phone and while its hung up, press Feature 69 Feature. This will cancel any current call forwards or DND's set on that handset. Then go off hook and dial 43 followed by the pilot (extension) number for your voice mail. You will hear a confirmation tone at which point you can go back on hook. This will set the phone to forward calls to voice mail on busy or no answer

Not sure why, but dialing 43 does not work. Phone display reads error and gives me a busy signal.

However, when I dial 44, it allows me to cancel the BNA forward.

Any ideas?

Nevermind... I got it.

I had to dial 45 from the reception console phone, dial the extension, and then dial the voicemail port.

Thanks for your help though.. it pointed me in the right direction.

The access codes are flexible, and so your dealer may have chan ged them from default or removed them alltogether to prvent accidental cancelations, typically once you set the Cfwd B/NA you would not need it again. Although leaving the cancel code would have been a bad idea.
