Non-IE exploit hacks IE.

Wow, well they predicted there would be attacks this year seeking a way around FF's security, it seems the "New breed" may be here a lot quicker than was first thought.

This is a social engineering ploy, not a breach of FF security. Unlike those exploits that use flaws in activeX, the user gets asked if they want to install. Since the malicious code could have attacked the OS just as easily as infesting IE with scumware, it is just a way of tricking non-IE users into installing crap. The ultimate security device is the brains of the user, and the scumware vendors are counting on the reality that many users are naive.
