Is there any way to configure an IP Phone as a non-busy extension?

 
On a SX-200 - Yes (COS Option)
On a 3300 - No (ANLOG Set assignment only)

Only one question... what does MDF refer to in the FAQ?
 
MDF = Main Distribution Frame.

If you don't know what that is, well...

Okay I will tell you. Telecom is full of Acryonyms. An MDF is location of the physical cabling terminations in a building. Usually, this involves Entrance Cabling (how a telco gets into your building), Tie cabling to an IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame), Station Cabling to desktops.

I've used stn/trk loopback for numerous other applications such as remote ACD monitoring and call park pickup via DISA but this never occured to me.
