There is so much static on the line when one of my IP phones calls an outside number or when it dials a normal extension. The calls from ip phone to ip phone are crystal clear however. Is there something I can change to clear this up? The problem only seems to be intermittent. I have already tried resetting the phone system to no avail.

Good grounding of your LG iPECS cabinets is necessary. Also use ferrite core around all cables for power and outside lines.

It is grounded, granted, I never checked to see how good the ground is, but wouldn't that affect all lines and not just the VOIB board?

Thanks for your help! I'll see what I can find out.

sounds like either bandwith . codec issues or possibly faulty board(Voib), is this a local or remote extrension.

It shouldn't be bandwidth, we have a 30mb/4mb internet connection. I've run speed tests and ping tests with good results.

All ip phones are set up as remote. I have one located in the building for troubleshooting though. The problem is apparent on remote and my test phone.

Thanks for the replies!

should not be is always a killer, can you implement QOS to defione if it is a bandwith issue or not as if you can call internally ip to ip then that suggests the Voib board is ok , can you make as many calls internally as the voib board can cope with and still have clarity?

If yes QOS is the way to go are you making external calls over Sip ?
