I have a perplexing problem with a single phone.
I have a CS1000E system at 7.6

The phone below (x2435)can't hear when x2402 (see blow his TNB) calls her.

I have replaced the hardware on both phones.

• Phone 2402 dials Phone 2435
• Phone B hears ring and answers but neither can hear each other
• Phone 2402 dials phone C – all OK
• Phone 2435 dials an external number – all OK
• Phone 2435 receives a call from an external number – all OK
• Phone C dials phone 2435 – all ok
• Phone 2402 dials an external number – all OK
• Phone 2402 receives a call from an external number – all OK
• Phone C dials an external number – all OK
• Phone C receives a call from an external number – all OK

All phones have the same firmware = C94
TGARS all the same on set = 1

I really have no idea what to try next.
Thanks.

I would have to agree very odd, are the sets on different Sig servers?

I had odd one in the past with a site with 2 SS and 50% of the IP sets on sites had no dial tone when I looked one of the SS had no patches on it. May not be relevant but only thing springing to mind right now.

Question are both phones same site? I have a similar issue with a multiple city and campus environment. At this one location any VoIP (1220 or 1140) set calling a TDM M3900 series or analog has intermittent talk path failure. The system generates a series of ELAN related alarms and the system correct itself temporarily.

Yes, both phones are at the same location - actually in adjacent offices. They are calling VOIP to VOIP.

Can you assign the phones with different DN's and even TN's just to see if the problem relates to the virtual port or IP address. It sounds as if it's IP that is the problem as you have already swapped out the IP phones with another 1220 set.

Does 2435 hear OK from other sets?. Once the TN change has been done, check if the phones IP address is different. It's going to be a tricky one to solve. You may have to even consider giving the Sig Server a reboot, but that should be a last resort.

checked the IP addresses and Voice VLAN on the phones do they look right?

When 2402 and 2435 are talking, all voice packets are directly between the two. It seems like something is blocking that flow. Check your data network.

The sets are at an off site location so will certainly check those items you suggested and I will change up the TN.
Will post an update next week.
Thanks!

UPDATE - port isolation mode was enabled on the port on the data switch this phone was connected. Disabled this and all OK now.
