I have a pc here at work that came in for repair but i cant seem to fix the problem. Its an old Celeron 400 Mhz. I just opened it up to see what kind of memory would it take and after that it would not show me any video. Now these are the things i have tried to do already:

1. Tried the monitor on a diffrent computer.
2. Changed out the video card.
3. Changed the memory to just one and even diffrent memory
then the one in the pc.
4. Stripped out the pc so no hard drives or the cdrom are
connected.
5. Also disconnected all the other cards and ran it just
with the video card still nothing.

I have tried to do all these things and want to try to change the power supply next but before i do that i wanted to find out if anyone has had the similar problem in the past. I would appericiate the help.

I tried the cmos and power lead. Nothing. Although i did get a long beep but only once. I dont have another power supply but will try that next. Thanks for the reply.

I am encountering the same problem with a 550mhz ADM.

I have the same list of things I checked off, I have replaced power supplies and changed video cards, two monitors. And still dead video feed.

Any more ideas?

Is the BIOS ROM chip a plugin type? If so, pry it up a little (or all the way out if you're careful), and plug it back in (the pins get "dirty", just like memory or CPU. Speaking of which, did you reseat the CPU?

Forgot to ask, does anything else seem to work? Keyboard lights, fans, hard drive noises?

No nothing else worked even changed the power supply now still nothing. Only had it beep once. After that same thing. I have cleared the CMOS this is a strange problem. I dont know what would be the next step other then kicking it. well thanks for the replies any other ideas anyone.

Well since it is a celeron I vote for kicking it!

Seriously though is there an on-board video? If so have you tried it? Is the video card you are changing AGP? If so do you have a PCI video card you can try? Or visa-versa if it has an AGP slot.

Just a few suggestions hope they help.
