No Tone on Trunks but internal functions are working OK 2

Hello:

I have a 6x16 DR5 system with (6) Telephones model M7310, the system was stored for about 3 years still with originally mounted patch panel and connections. Now I'm trying to put it back to work and when connecting trunks there is no tone on lines, I made a System Startuo procedure and set a Square template and Public Type Configuration but problem persist. Internally I can use Intercom to call all extensions I connect but I can not hear anithing when select any line(Trks);also when I configure Pulse on TRK 1 or 2 I can hear the system Dialing and the call progress; but I can't hear NO tone on any of the (6) extension connected. Please HELP!!!

It could be one of a dozen or more possible things. If you really want it to work correctly I would suggest calling a Nortel vendor. They should be able to have it up and running within 30-60 minutes (assuming nothing is actually broken.)

Look in the Yellow pages under telecommunication equipment dealers- then find someone who works on Nortel.
That is the heading where I come from. In your area it may be business telephones, or telephones.
 
do you have dial tone on the trunks. Have you put a butt set on them.
 
Yes, before to connect the line cable to the trunk on TRK01 or TRK02 of the system, I have test that there is tone on that line. Any suggestions??

Program a phone with 6 lines of appearance and move your line cord through each line port tring to access each line,if you dont get tone the you either have no dial tone on your line cord or your trunks are shot.If you have dial tone accessing trunk 3 thru six then maybe trunk 1&2 are bad
 
Unplugged 616 will default to pulse dialing. It needs to configured properly... call a tech.
 
Hello:

I have re-programmed as per your suggestion to use other tunks but problem persist as same - (No Tone) on any line. Pulse dials outside perfectly on every trunk line, but there is no sound or tone, the telephone dialed rings and I can hear on called phone all transmited sounds by the callers system extension; but can not hear back nothing on the system extension phones - I have tried with 6 (M7310) differents phones. If change programming to Tone then system did not dial out. THANKS for all help; if any other suggestions I will be thanksfully too!!!
 
3 things can be bad
the line,
the system,
the cable connecting them (includes the jack on the 616)...

just go by elimination ...
 
Line is OK, Jack Conections are OK, maybe something in the system; any clue???
 
i would just give ya one to end this post

Check your handset and make sure the handset is plugged into the handset jack not the headset jack
