Hi,

I have an Access database which is used by various people. I manage it on Access 2003. Recently we have rolled out a few enhancements which have been tested as working on 2003 and 2007. Several users complained of the same issue, where as plenty had the db working fine. I obtained the version of access, SP levels etc. I have asked the users who have the error to test various versions of the development database to see if we can identify an issue, when I think I have found a db which works for everyone, one user then finds they have the issue on it.

So the problem is there is no tangible consistency relating to the error. It would point towards an difference on the client laptop but what?

One of the error message received is:
Run-Time Error: 2455:
'You entered an expression that has an invalid reference to the property Form/Report'

The other just freezes the form. There are 3 buttons on one particular form, which this relates to but can see nothing wrong with the code.

When following the debug button this takes you to some code which is fine, and clearly works on the dbs which don't have the issue.

One interesting point is, I asked a user who had the error to zip the db up after seeing the error and send it back to me, when I open this db on my laptop I then see the same error but the db which I sent him worked fine on my laptop before he tried it. On this copy where I see the error there is a white box appears not covering the full form, whilst another form is loading, this does not appear on the db copy where I don't see the error.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Thanks,
Peter

What line of code is throwing the error?

A quick Google search indicates plenty of people with similar problems when using the [Forms]![frm...] syntax, many of which are resolved using the Me. syntax
