Hi, Guys,

I just installed windows XP Pro and upon startup, the
sounds worked. After shutdown and upon restarting windows,
the sounds no longer work, i.e., log-on, shutdown, etc.

Both the built-in and external speakers work so that's not the problem. Any solutions?

BTW, why would the sound work before but not after?

Many Thanks

rubberball,
Have you checked the system sounds and made sure that you have a sound theme enabled? If so, check to make sure that the sounds for logoff, shutdown, startup etc are selected... I am assuming that the speakers are not muted. debonairOne

Thanks Linney, you are simply great, I struggled a lot to get the solution, I've 2000 pro with me and all of a sudden, I got this problem. [medal]
