I had to re-load my computer with XP because of a problem. That meant that it also re-formatted my C drive. I have put everything back in but now I have no sound. I checked devices and see a question mark where the sound is. I looked for my Motherboard disc but don't have it. Is there something I can do?

Load up Device Manager again.
Right-click on the one with the question mark
and go to Properties, then to the Details tab.

It should list something like the following:

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5051&SUBSYS_103C36.........

You can google the "FUNC_**&VEN_****" or you can
type out what you see and post it here.

Thank you for the info. I now have sound
