No shell for root :(

Hi

We have serious problem.
We administrating irix server from 3 days. We do not have
any experience in it. During system update we accidentaly
deleted our root shell and we are not able to log in as root.

We do not graphics card, cdrom and fdd. Our mashine is
Origin 200, our system is Irix 6.5.
We do have access to non root shell account.
We have connection to our station through com port.
When we booted system and tried to get to maiternance mode
system hangs up(it allow to choose option
i.e: system recovery but it does not accept enter key).

Does anyone know what to do ?

What did you do in system update?
You say you have access to non root account, does it mean the system comes up?
Please try to specify more the problem. Start by telling what appears on the terminal when you turn on the power and do not press any key?
