The user's extension (245) is forwarded to the VM with F984. VM DN 333. When I call the ext internally with Intercom, the display says 'no reply' and dies. I call the DID and it goes straight to VM as it's supposed to. I take the ext off forward, and it's OK. I also tried forwarding with F4, and it does the same 'no reply' thing.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

you will need to be more specific as to telephone system type and voicemail type, preferably with software versions of each.
Someone may have enabled the ring again feature on set 245?

I have an MICS 4.1 XC with NVM 4.0, with Cinphony ACD 3.4. I have not encountered this problem before, and I'm not sure how the ring again feature would come into play. But I'm all ears...
Thanks

DeeBeam,
So if outside calls go through and inside calls do not...
Are all your NAM channels working in Maint? Also check your channel allocation for ACD and Voice. I'm just wondering if by default norstar routes internal calls on say B1 and external calls on B2 and there is an assignment conflict.

??

Your right, the ring again feature was a brain fart on my part, but the question is: leaving the voicemail out of the picture for now... What feature and under what circumstance gives you the "no reply" prompt in the screen of the phone??
set two phones up on a desk and try ring again, send message(feature 1)
failing that, did you try a reboot?
Just musing on my keyboard...

Thanks all. I will check on the B1/B2 channels, but I'm thinking if there was an assignement or contention issue, would it not give a busy signal of some sort? Doesn't 'no reply' indicate that something was tried to ring but the far end did not respond to the "handshake"?
westcoaster, please see my first post on details, but generally, as soon as ext 245 is forwarded to VM with either Feature 984 or 4, the CALLING phone display says 'no reply' and drops when you dial ext 245 internally. When you dial in through the external DID, it goes to VM as expected.

DeeBeam,
Yes it DOES sound like a no connect issue... But do all the channels show in Maint? What exactly is the answer route for the DID vs the extention?

PhM

debeam, I understand you are getting "no reply" and your call dropped when local 245 is call forward to voicemail.
I believe "no reply" is a prompt that is used elsewhere, possably with ring again, or one of the other features on the telephone system. This is an open question to all... what gives "no reply"?? -it is not a prompt associated with voicemail.
I will try to check tomorrow...

Well, when you transfer a call to an extension and it is not forwarded and the transfer call back timer kicks in then the display will show:

221 no reply
CALL BACK
