Hi,

I've got an HP xm9300 with additional RocketRAID SATA PCI Card onboard. I have three 400Gb drives hooked up to that and 1 hooked up straight to the motherboard.

After some strange problems with USB ports and then the computer constantly restarting part way through booting windows, I tried to repair windows (which failed).

On the advice of HP, I unplugged the RAID array so that they wouldn't be touched whilst reformatting and reinstalling winxp. All went ok, and i could boot back into windows.

Having reattached the power to the drives, i restarted the machine, installed the windows drivers for the RAID card, but windows does not "see" the drive.

I believe it was in a RAID 0 format or JBOD format. I think it was RAID 0. My thinking was that since i didn't change any of the RAID bios settings, i would not have to recreate the array.

The data on those 4 drives is extremely important... It's frustrating because i know the data is on the drives, i just can't access it...

obviously, i have limited knowledge of RAID, but if anyone could help me get that data back, I'd appreciate it massively! I honestly don't know what to do next...

Many thanks,

Martin

Just to follow up on this, i've downloaded Active Partition (on recommendation from another thread on the site).

The good news is that i can see my data as a "dynamic stripe" and everything seems to be there, how should i go about recovering it? i'm running a full scan at the moment, but i'd have thought that would be unnecessary given that i can see all my data there - i just need to get windows to see it!

Any thoughts?

Many thanks,

Martin
