hi,

I have a 4625, and during the bootprocess, there is no indication of "press * to program" during the DHCP phase.

When I configure a DHCP server and the phone logs in, i cannot change to static IP addressing using "mute (or hold) ADDR"

mute / hold RESET doesn't work either.

Is this a failure or a security setting? If it's security, how can I undo this?

Regards!

I am having the same problem with my 4625 phones. I thought it may be something in the TFTP file but haven;t found anything. Maybe some one can help both of us?

I even tried reflashing it with the same firmware. (had to change some things in the upgrade.scr file)

might have something to do with the PROCPSWD parameter in DHCP/46xxSETTINGS.TXT

will test later

when you specify the parameter PROCPSWD in the settingsfile, you have access to the functions after entering the password.

but the "press * to program" is still missing

SOLVED: it seems someone set the PROCPSWD. The solution is to put the following in the 46xxsettings.txt file

SET PROCPSWD 1234
SET PROCSTAT 0

rebobot the phone and issue the following command on the keyboard:

<mute>1234CLEAR#

This clears the password and restores the phone to almost "factory" settings.

Reboot the phone and you'll see the * to Program option again.
