We have a 1720 router. One of my students erased the flash inadvertently. Moreover, he set the configuration register to 0x1202 (not 0x2102) before erasing the flash >:-< . The result of all this mess is that the router boots with NO PROMPT at all :-(. Is there any solution to this odd situation?

Set your terminal speed to 1200 baud. That should give you access to the console port and allow you to set the config-registry back to the default value.
