I'm having a problem with an active X control. its a common control for an Open File window.

It works fine on my laptop and one other computer at work, but the other 2 computers I get an error "no object in this control"

I dont know why because the ActiveX control is registered I think(I used the same exact control in 2 other databases and they both work perfect on all the computers.)

Thanks.

When you use certain activex controls you have to also include special files for the user. These files should show up on the 'pack it' wizard that puts you package together for other users.

What is Pack it wizard? I can't find anything about it in the help files. I'm using Access 97..it it something new that 97 doesn't have?

the file the control uses is COMDLG32.ocx I think and all the computers have it..so I'm not really sure whats going on...or why it works on 2 of my databases but not the new one I have been working on.

sorry, I just looked for the wizard and do not find it. I must have confused this with VB 6.0 which does have an EXE wizard.

Look up register activex controls in help and follow the process. It sounds to me like you don't have the control registered on some of your machines. I am not an expert in this area, but it is something to verify.
