Hi am with a senior group and cannot for the life of me work this out although I know it will be simple to some of the genuises out there. We have 17 computers on a network here on a coaxial cable. All machines can see themselves but none others. The server can see it self but no others. The only lights working is on the server card. It was working fine last time we used and now isnt so am thinking could it be the server network card?. Please help here. Thanks

Any break or poor connection anywhere on the co-ax will cause the problem.

What are the specs on the network connections? Start, settings, control panel, network, and the values for card, client, and protocols.

There are 2 lights on the servers machine and they both flash when the pc is on. Also is it possible to unhook 1 machine at a time to see which one is causing the problem, and why would it work 1 day and not the next?

Simplest way is to use 2. 1 cable between them and terminators on both machines. Both should see the other depending on client, card, protocol, and workgroup.
You get 2 working then start adding machines to the string.
This is something like getting christmas tree lights to work.
Stuff like this happens. Ed Fair
